Our staff is the heart of this practice. Each staff member expresses our commitment to gentle care and our resolve to provide great dental health and smiles to our patients. And each staff member brings a personal touch in fulfilling our mission and core values as a dental practice.
Dr. Chris Poulos
Highly skilled, ethical, and caring General Dentist in the Syracuse area including Fayetteville, Manlius, Jamesville, and Dewitt.
Dr. Poulos (“Dr. P.”) is delighted to be in Central NY to provide you with enhanced care opportunities and convenience.
Dr. P. graduated with honors from Skidmore College in Upstate NY. He completed his dental training at Harvard School of Dental Medicine where he received his DMD with honors.
In the field of dentistry, Dr. P. has years of experience in comprehensive periodontal evaluation (gums and bones), and restorative dentistry using the latest technology including tooth-colored restorations. He looks forward to catering to more young families as well. We will further emphasize these areas among other advancements at our office. Dr. P. will continue to add a comprehensive understanding of your oral conditions and develop maintenance and treatment plans to fit your individual needs and maximize your oral health.
When Dr. P. is not with his patients, he enjoys spending time with his family. His wife Dr. Ranjna Sharma is a breast cancer surgeon. Together they have three wonderful young children, Alexandra, Andrew, and Nicolas. His other interests include running, cycling, swimming, skiing, and travel.
Dr. Christian H. Woodhead
Growing up in Central New York, Dr. Woodhead always knew he wanted his professional path to allow him to stay in the area for years to come. With interests in science and a passion for helping others, dentistry became the best fit for him to incorporate his skill set in the great state of New York.
After studying business management and biology at Le Moyne College, Dr. Woodhead attended New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, where he received a doctorate in Dental Surgery and graduated with recognition of Cum Laude. Also, in 2009, he was awarded a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (F.A.G.D), which less than 7% of dentists obtain. Dr. Woodhead was elected as the President of the Fifth District of the New York State Dental Association 2023-2024 term.
Post education, Dr. Woodhead has lectured and taught dentistry for almost two decades at the local dental residency programs. He has even spent some of his time teaching abroad. He has also attended the New York Implant Institute, which sparked one of his many clinical interests.
Dr. Woodhead always puts his best intentions with his patients and ensures they have autonomy in all their overall treatment goals. A combination of his attentiveness and level of quality care that he provides each of his patients, has led him to be recognized in many ways. One of his top professional achievements is being listed as one of the “top dentists” in CNY by The Good Life Central New York magazine in 2018.
Wishing he had more spare time, he genuinely enjoys activities such as golfing, learning history, watching movies, and DIY construction projects. Most importantly, he loves spending time with his family.
Louise
Louise, one of our regularly praised Dental Hygienists, is able to bring experience and dedication to the CMP Dental Arts team due to her years of working with patients. She received A.A.S. degrees in both Computer Science and Dental Hygiene with high honors. Louise is proud to bring her work ethic and drive with her every day. Louise’s outstanding quality is her compassion and commitment to her patients well being. Outside of work, Louise enjoys spending time with her nine grandchildren and traveling.
Kay
Kay is from Staten Island. She has been with our practice for over 16 years. Kay holds a B.S.E., M.S.E., and an A.A.S. Before practicing dental hygiene, Kay worked with persons with disabilities in a variety of capacities. Her favorite part of being a hygienist is helping to empower others to get through their fears within the realm of dentistry. As a professional clown, her balloon animal skills still come in handy. When she is not working, Kay is often seen unicycling in her neighborhood and competes in long distance open water swimming races.
Summer
Summer is a Registered Dental Hygienist who has been with the practice for over a year . She is as her name suggests, somewhat a free spirit. Originally from Pennsylvania, she traveled to Europe as a student ambassador before obtaining her private pilots license at the age of nineteen. She then ventured across the country, living a few years in Montana and earning an apprenticeship in hydraulics and pneumatics. After coming back east, she then dedicated herself to the dental field where she achieved her A.A.S in Dental Hygiene with high honors from Luzerne County Community College. She later moved to New York where she has worked as a hygienist for several years. Her personal and professional goals are the same, to treat individuals with kindness and compassion; Summer strives to bring this quality to each and every patient. Outside the office you can find Summer with her husband Scott, their daughter Amelia and their sheltidoodle Bedelia. They will most likely be refurbishing found pieces of furniture from yard sales, rehabbing an old camper, or reading on a porch swing.
Maddie
Madeleine, better known as Maddie, is originally from Whitesboro, NY and now resides in the Greater Utica area. Maddie is a compassionate and determined NYS registered Dental Hygienist. She is dedicated to exceptional patient care and prioritizes patient’s comfort in the dental chair. She received her A.A.S in dental hygiene at SUNY Canton in 2018 and has been practicing in the dental field for 5 years. Prior to dental, Maddie worked in a nursing home taking care of elderly and disabled patients. When not at work, Maddie enjoys playing with her many pets and spending time with her son and fiancé.
Jill
Jill has been at the hands of a dentist for 30 years. Originally earning her Dental Assistant certificate from OCM BOCES, Jill is continually updating her professional skills and applies this with a great chair-side manner during every visit. With two daughters of her own, Jill has developed a love for growing with her patients and being able to watch as the practices children blossom into great young adults. When not assisting Dr Poulos, Jill likes spending time with her husband Patrick, grandsons Dustin and Peyton, and especially her cat Hankyl.
Keisha
Keisha joined CMP Dental Arts in May of 2021. Keisha successfully completed the BOCES Registered Dental Assistant program in March of 2017 and has been in the dental field for the past four years. As a liaison between dental treatment and patient outcomes, she assists in explaining and reviewing patients personalized treatment .Keisha is friendly, compassionate and a caring person. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Amanda
Amanda joined CMP Dental Arts in March 2022.
Amanda first became interested in the BOCES Dental Assistant program one year after High School but had to put her dream on hold due to life events. Amanda went on to pursue the management field and worked very hard obtaining the required skills needed and achieved a management title in the food industry. She was a successful Manager for better than 5 years. She finally had the opportunity to pursue her passion and re-entered and graduated from the BOCES Dental Assistant Program in 2018.
Amanda is a hands-on Mom and loves to spend her free time with her two beautiful sons, Cameron age 8, & Mason age 7. She enjoys the outdoors loves going hiking with her significant other Jamie and her dog Caesar.
Chelsey
Chelsey is a staple at CMP Dental Arts as our Front Desk Coordinator. Chelsey is a Syracuse native and has been involved in the dental field for the last five years. Chelsey is very knowledgeable with every aspect of our front office. She loves to give the patients a reason to smile on the way out the door by providing a superior patient experience. At home, Chelsey enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
Nathan
Nathan is our youngest staff member here at CMP Dental Arts. Nathan is a pre-dental student from Baldwinsville and has recently completed his B.A. in Integrative Neuroscience at Binghamton University. Nathan had developed a passion for the CMP Dental Family and will be attending dental school in 2020. Outside of work, Nathan enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, and playing golf. At the front desk, Nathan works hard alongside Dr. Poulos and is happy to complement your visit with an inviting manner.
